The extension project is a simple volume that blends in with the existing structure. It includes a series of assault courses to complete the range and provide a generous volume. The façade is designed to share the same frontage with the existing building. The structure of the project remains simple, based on wooden porticos whose distribution is condensed to the rhythm of the assault courses.
All the elements of the programme are directly linked to the entrance and the administration office, which has a 180° view of the two halls. From the entrance, athletes can access the changing rooms without having to pass through the weapons room. Once they have changed into their uniforms, they can enter the weapons room directly. This means that they don't have to wear street shoes in the new hall. This way of organising the building will make it possible to imagine an extension to the south-east gable up to the 3.50 metre limit, which allows a maximum height of 7 metres.
- A simple structure, common materials: A brick inner shell completes the structure and increases inertia. This includes a cavity for installing a low-temperature heating circuit with a reflector between the inertia walls and the caissons. The wall releases the heat at the same level as the occupants.
- The thick facade: Above the enclosure, a thick facade extends around the perimeter of the building. This light crown provides a buffer space that limits heat loss, provides warmth in winter and acts as an initial screen to limit heat gain in summer. This buffer space is naturally ventilated, allowing hot air masses from solar radiation to escape.
