A public building marks an important commitment to a region. A school sets a milestone for future generations. In short, a public school plays an essential role in providing a coherent and equitable education for all children, which fosters the social and intellectual development of society. The school complex includes classrooms, activity rooms, playgrounds, sports fields, a library and refectories. Designed to be accessible to all, the school group welcomes and invites children from the moment they enter, with the curve of the façade covered by a brightly-lit canopy. This friendly atmosphere allows the CLAE to be supervised from its central position. Inside, the school's design is based on hospitality and functionality. The use of warm, natural colours creates a dialogue with the vegetation through open perspectives.
The façades play on several relationships. On the ground floor, on the public space side, the relationship is not very open, keeping the public space at a distance and protecting the interior. On the upper floors, the connections between the hollows and interstices act as a showcase for the solid parts, with light flooding into these spaces at regular intervals, the claustra keeping the rooms cool and physically protecting the openings. The façade is punctuated by a vertical pattern of bays opening onto the courtyards. A structural principle of modularity has been put in place thanks to a simple and legible grid based on a 55 m2 classroom, so that activities can be changed according to the development of the neighbourhood and the needs of the school group. The modularity of the spaces allows great freedom of use, while guaranteeing dedicated areas for children of different ages.
